The University of Delaware has a new director of student health services, and he's no stranger to emergency room visits.
Dr. Rick Hong, who has worked in the Delaware Division of Public Health since 2005, has served as the state's medical director for Covid-19 Influenza, Ebola, and Zika, among other infectious diseases, per a press release.
He's also a board-certified emergency medicine and emergency medical services physician.
Hong, who earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry and bachelor's in health care management and policy from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, has worked on numerous projects related to infectious diseases, including chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear, traumatic and natural causes.
He completed his emergency medicine residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, in 2004.
