A homeless man in Umpqua, Ore., found a way to give back to the community this Christmas.

With the help of a Facebook post, he was able to buy a new stove and oven for the St. Francis Community Kitchen, which provides free meals to the poor, reports the Umpqua Daily Herald.

The man, identified as 61-year-old Vincent de Paul, says he was living on the streets after losing his job and couldn't afford a place to stay.

"I wanted to give back to the community that has helped me so much," he tells the Daily Herald.

"I thought it would be a good idea to buy a new stove and oven," he says.

"I don't know how I'm going to pay for it, but I want to give back to the community that has helped me so much."
