The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has stepped in to help a small town's arts organization.

The Peterborough Children and the Arts Festival received a $7,810 grant to help with a large-scale lantern workshop, the New Hampshire Union Leader reports.

The group also received a $2,500 grant to help with next year's festival, which will be held in May.

"We're extremely grateful to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, as well as to the local community, for helping us maintain our mission of keeping these events completely free for children and their families," says festival chair Tina Kriebel.
