Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) awarded more than $560 million in philanthropic contributions to more than 4,000 nonprofit organizations and 6,000 students across the epidemic period, from 2020 to 2021, according to its most recent annual report.
It will aim to address the needs and disparities that under-resourced, rural and disadvantaged communities are experiencing as a result of recent years' worsening economic conditions.
OCF awarded more than 3,000 students a total of $11.6 million in scholarships last year, an increase from the previous year.
Children's Summer Learning — In mid-March, the State of Oregon granted millions of dollars to assist children's summer learning and enrichment activities.
The Oregon Community Foundation collaborated with the state and effectively distributed $41.2 million in state-funded summer education and early childhood learning awards throughout all 36 Oregon county jurisdictions.
