The mayor of New York's Westchester County has released the full list of recipients of this year's grants from the Empire State Development Corp., the New York Times reports.
Here's a sampling: Food banks: $100,000 to provide food to hungry Ossining residents.
Human justice: $100,000 to provide free legal services to low-income immigrants facing eviction.
Water: $25,000 to protect drinking water for residents of Buchanan, Cortlandt, Ossining, and Peekskill.
Jobs and workforce development: $80,000 to provide a youth workforce development program in Mamaroneck, Mount Vernon, and New Rochelle.
Conservation and environment: $27,000 to promote environmental literacy in schools in Ossining, Port Chester, Tarrytown, White Plains, and Yonkers.
Energy: $15,000 to lead a campaign to eliminate County reliance on incinerating solid waste.
