"In Asia, Japan stands out as a pioneer in leveraging to address societal challenges and foster innovation."
To that end, Japan is aiming to become a "leader in shaping the future of ICT and driving economic growth by staying at the forefront of R&D," promoting international collaboration, and promoting open innovation, per the editorial.
Among its goals: to harness the power of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and 5G to create a resilient and connected society; to promote open innovation by promoting sharing of resources and expertise; and to improve intellectual property protection and machine learning.
