Grant Purpose - Health Justice Initiative: To support an advocacy capacity-building project to reduce the disparity of HIV prevention and treatment services experienced by inmates in Los Angeles County both when they are in prisons or jails and after their release. Outcomes 1. An organization with the capacity to engage in advocacy and policy work around the issue of HIV prison healthcare. 2. Identification of HIV prisoner policies that could lead to decrease of HIV infection within and outside prison walls. 3. Advocacy capacity building will assist to leverage partner resources in addressing this issue. IV. EVALUATION The Executive Director and Policy Director will report regularly to the Board regarding capacity-building project progress. A process and outcome evaluation report will be written by staff documenting the capacity-building process, assessment results, training helpfulness, potential policy allies and resources and selected policy issues.
