Grant Purpose - The Social Change Assistance Trust works to improve the quality of life of rural people by assisting them in addressing poverty through locally developed initiatives. Mott's support will assist community-based advice offices to implement programs that address community needs such as poverty, access to justice, and local economic development focusing, in particular, on women and youth. It will also allow the grantee to continue to provide financial resources, training, and hands-on support to between 50 and 60 advice offices in the rural areas of the Eastern, Western, and Northern Cape provinces, as well as the Northwest and Free State provinces. Its interventions will aim at addressing HIV/AIDS, local economic development, access to justice, local government service delivery, and food security.
