Grant Purpose - This grant provides important general purpose support to the Community Foundation Network, a membership organization of community foundations in the United Kingdom. The Community Foundation Network has supported the development and expansion of community foundations over the past 17 years by providing technical assistance, training, data collection, research, marketing, financial assistance, and advocacy. Over the next two years, the grantee will focus on increasing the profile of community foundations, managing programs that strengthen the network's delivery capacity, improving the network's effectiveness and efficiency, and upgrading its information technology systems. Currently, there are 56 network members covering 94 percent of the United Kingdom. Collectively, these community foundations provided over $150 million in grants in 2007, and their endowment assets now exceed $400 million.
