Committee for Economic Development Grant

Organization - Committee for Economic Development
Grant Amount - $50,000
Foundation - Mott Foundation
Grant Purpose - This grant will provide general purpose support to the Committee for Economic Development. The organization's policy programs focus on four vital areas of our economy and society: education, from pre-kindergarten, primary, and secondary education, to college and continuous learning; workforce development; international trade and financial stability; and long-term economic growth, including the federal budget, productivity, and technology. The organization engages a national constituency of business and academic leaders, public officials, policymakers, community groups, and other concerned citizens in this work and broadly disseminates recommendations and publications to them, while conducting business forums and town meetings across the country. In 2008, major programs are planned on healthcare, human resources in education, and early childhood care and development. Since its founding in 1942, the Committee for Economic Development has been bringing business innovation and thinking to bear on public policy development.
