Grant Purpose - This grant provides renewal support to the Council on Foundations for the work of the Community Foundation Leadership Team, whose mission is to serve as a strong voice, advocate, and resource for community foundations. Over the past seven years, the team has aided the development of the community foundation field through establishing national community foundation standards, promoting best practices, developing and disseminating marketing tools, advocating for a supportive legal and regulatory environment, and conducting research and development on technology, accountability, and organizational and professional development. Through its Plan of Action 2007-2010, the team and the council will build on past achievements and focus on creating, capturing, and sharing knowledge; enhancing the practice of community leadership; achieving operational excellence; and advancing an effective legislative agenda.
