Long Beach Community Foundation

The Long Beach Community Foundation was founded in 1996 by the Estate Planning & Trust Council of Long Beach and an advisory board of local community leaders in collaboration with the California Community Foundation.

In 2003, a grant to open an office in Long Beach was provided by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

MBA and Microsoft MVP for SharePoint Server, Symon Garfield, writes, “Social business has no value without purpose. If you know what you are trying to do (strategy) then that will give you the means to measure success (business case or value proposition), and that in turn will help you assess investments in social against other priorities. The starting point is strategy.”
