Lake County Community Foundation

The Lake County Community Foundation was established to meet the charitable needs of the fast-growing communities of Lake County, Illinois. Our county is diverse, comprising rural areas, urban centers and well-known tourist attractions, a multi-ethnic population, and households with widely varying economic resources.
In recent years we have witnessed an explosive population growth--including a large influx of immigrants--and an increased demand for human services.
These evolving challenges, and a desire to better support community members who want to give something back, prompted local business and civic leaders in 2003 to partner with The Chicago Community Trust to establish a foundation that would serve the unique needs of Lake County.
