The people, communities, and natural resources of Colorado are the inspiration behind the legacy of philanthropy at the Gates Family Foundation. Since its creation in 1946, the Foundation has evolved from a corporate and community well-being initiative of the Gates Rubber Company, to a private family foundation known for its capital grantmaking, to its current iteration as a multi-faceted strategic partner active in the fields of education, natural resources, and community development.

Empowerment Plan is a nonprofit aimed at helping countless homeless people find jobs. To combat the country’s homeless crisis, the Plan hires homeless people and teaches them how to make coats for the homeless suffering on the streets.
