The Dayton Foundation is the region's largest community foundation, has been helping you help others locally and around the world since 1921.

The foundation provides services, resources, support and counsel to help individuals achieve their charitable giving goals. It also assists nonprofits by funding important initiatives and offering expertise to increase their operational effectiveness.

Additionally the foundation identifies important community issues and brings together the people and organizations who can solve those issues.

Getting Out and Staying Out, co-founded by Tony Smith of the VSA Consulting Group, works to reduce recidivism rate among men at Rikers Island, New York City. The recidivism rate significantly dropped from 60-plus percent to under 20 percent, with more than a thousand men over a span of  eight years.
