Community Foundation of South Wood County

Richard S. and Mary Virginia Brazeau had a dream to provide something of a lasting nature for the good of the South Wood County area. This legacy could only be realized through the creation of a permanent endowment.

Mr. Brazeau did not live to see his dream realized. However, his wife was instrumental in establishing the Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County (CF) in July of 1994. She did this by making a $1 million matching funds challenge, and the Foundation began.

Since its start in 1994, the CF has been one of the fastest growing community foundations in the state of Wisconsin. Within the Foundation are nearly 400 individual charitable funds. Big or small, they all serve the common purpose of making a lasting difference in the quality of life in the South Wood County area.
