The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County has given more than half a million dollars to nine local nonprofits over the last few years, the Baltimore Sun reports.
This year, the foundation awarded $439,832 to nine organizations, including the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, which will use the money to keep 27 baby pantries and a mobile pantry stocked for low-income families in the county.
"By ensuring equitable access to healthcare, mental health support, educational opportunities, and nutritious food, we aspire to create a community where every child has the opportunity to succeed," says CFAAC President and CEO Mary Spencer in a press release.
