If you're over 60 and in need of a ride to and from work, the Maine Community Foundation may be able to help.
The foundation has released a call for applications for its 2022 grants, which are available to community organizations that provide transportation or other services to people with limited or no access to transportation, the Bangor Daily News reports.
The deadline for applications is Sept.
15.
Last year, the foundation awarded $127,498 to 13 organizations.
Among the recipients: the Intercultural Community Center, which will use the money to expand educational, health, and social services to immigrants and refugees; the Penobscot Community Action Program, which will provide transportation for adults over 60 in Piscataquis and Penobscot counties; and Safe Voices, which will help survivors of domestic abuse and sex trafficking gain stability and safety by providing transportation to access resources.
