"There are no quick fixes for preventing violent crime in our community," Kathryn Dennis, president of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, says.
"We remain committed to the work of strengthening our community and decreasing violent crime by supporting programs like the ones we are announcing our support for today."
The foundation's latest round of grants will go to 31 organizations in Macon, Ga., focused on long-term violent crime prevention, the Telegraph reports.
"From literacy programs family counseling mental health activities that teach problem solving skills I am confident these MVP programs help create a stronger safer community," says Mayor Lester Miller, who started the foundation's Violence Prevention Strategic Plan in 2021.
