The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation has awarded $11,000 in grants to seven nonprofit organizations in three Michigan counties.
The Diversity Equity Inclusion Fund was created by the foundation's board last year to support organizations that are "making a positive difference in the communities in which they live and work," the foundation says in a press release.
This round of grants will go to Arts for All of Northern Michigan's Art Escapes Program, Norte Youth Cycling's More Girls on Bikes program, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month community programming, Michigan Indian Legal Services, Northwest Education Services, Suttons Bay Public Schools, and Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center.
