The Maine Community Foundation has awarded more than $77,000 in grants to community groups in the western part of the state. Among the recipients: a group that will use the money to build a new playground in Skowhegan, reports the Bangor Daily News. The project is being called "The Playground on the Mountain," and it's part of a larger effort to improve the area's infrastructure. The Daily News has more on the project here.
