A new South Bend small business chooses to give back: For every beer you buy, you get a token for 10, 25 or 50 cents. Before you leave, you drop the tokens into a jar for the charity of your choice.
South Bend Brew Werks, Downtown South Bend's only brew pub that's meaning to build a stronger community - one brew at a time, has already raised almost $850 during the two weeks of opening. To date, it's raised $1,500. A split of the proceeds will go to nonprofit La Casa de Amistad, which serves children of first and second-generation Hispanic immigrants.
