Community foundations in Northwest Indiana are tirelessly working to help homeless and low-income women have a safe place to call home.
Key organizations have collaborated to establish the Porter County Coalition for Affordable Housing to discuss and help reduce homelessness for Porter County. Through community support -- with Valparaiso University students, county volunteers, a community health clinic, and Impact -- the transformation of a former clinic has been developed to create a haven for 18 women. First eight units are already ready for occupancy.
