UConn Empower, a University of Connecticut student group, helps to deliver continuing change by empowering the less fortunate through health care and student-oriented programs. The group particularly targets countries in Southeast Asia and Africa.
Founders Sumia Hussain and Lior Trestman desire to make a difference in these regions outside of United States. The group’s goals contain fundraising events and implementing global health, education, and empowerment projects.
