A nonprofit organization dedicated to finding cures for kids with cancer, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, awards more than $4 million in grants for new medical research for its first cycle this year.
The 48 new grants will be awarded to doctors and researchers, as well as medical and graduate students, at 34 institutions and universities throughout the country.
