Whatcom Community Foundation Receives Grant fro Gates Foundation

The Whatcom Community Foundation received a $340,000 award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to reduce poverty in Whatcom County, as part of more than $5 million given to nine charities statewide.

Community Foundation CEO Mauri Ingram said the Community Foundation will use the Gates donation to attract more money to further enhance charitable programs in the county.
