More than $3.2 million dollars have been awarded in philanthropic and charitable grants by the Burton D. Morgan foundation, a charitable organization based in northeast Ohio. Part of the grants have been allotted to support the expansion of the organization's mentoring program, which awards companies in new sectors.
Many different companies in Akron, Ohio, will be beneficiaries of the grants, with many varied uses such as funding multipurpose space for new businesses, summer camps for low income students, stipends for paid summer internships, and support for on campus space and engineering programs. These grants will assist these programs in being able to expand their services and broaden their outreach.
