The MacArthur Foundation is a foundation that grant funds to theater, music and the the arts yearly since 2006. A Chicago based institution which this year has granted monies ranging from $200,000 to $1 million to artistic organization in the nearby area.
Some of these artist groups are; Hyde Park Art center, Albany Park theater project, The Hypocrites, A Red Orchid Theater, Timeline Theater, Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, Chicago Opera theater, Chicago Sinfonietta, Eight Blackbird, Links Hall, Luck Plush Products, Young Chicago authors and Chicago Film Archives. These awards validate over a decade and a half of hard work and risktaking.
Many of the recipients have issued statements giving gratitude and honor to the MacArthur Foundation for help these organizations develop and sustain working models. It is the hope that these diverse organizations bring new audiences opera and dance theater.
