The San Francisco 49ers have a new co-owneror co-owner-in-chief, depending on who's counting.
The team announced Thursday that 49ers owner Jim Harbaugh and his wife, 49ers co-owner Tamir Rice, have donated $10 million to the San Francisco Foundation, a charity that works to improve the lives of residents of the Bay Area, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Harbaughs' donation is the largest ever for the SFF, which was founded in 1980 to improve the lives of Bay Area residents.
"Jim and Tamir have been longtime supporters of the San Francisco Foundation, and we are thrilled to have them as part of our family," the 49ers said in a statement.
"Their generous gifts will help us to continue to make the Bay Area a better place for all."
The Harbaughs' donation will go to a number of SFF projects, including housing for low-income residents, homelessness prevention, education, and more, the Chronicle reports.
