About Us
The town of Lunenburg, Vt., is looking to turn its once-thriving once-thriving past into a place where residents can live, work, and raise a family.
The Village Trust Initiative, a new partnership between the Preservation Trust of Vermont and the Vermont Community Foundation, has selected seven communitiesGreensboro Bend, Lunenburg, Lunenburg Middle School reuse project, Greensboro Bend, Church and parsonage adaptive reuse project, West Fairlee, Bean Hall Community Center project, Snowsville Hotel housing and community space project, and Reading, General Store projectas the first seven communities to be selected to receive "technical assistance, funding to support project pre-development, and significant capital investment to launch the project forward," per the VCRD's website.
The communities will receive technical assistance, funding, and "significant capital investment" for the first three months to get the project off the ground, then work with an advisory committee to develop a five-year plan for revitalization, reports the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus.
