"The amount of amazing things this group has done for women and children in our community is so special," says Dee Wetz, a long-term member of the Women's Giving Circle of Washington County.
"It's an honor to witness their compassion and leadership."
The group, a companion group of the Marietta Community Foundation, awarded $12,000 to three deserving organizations at a recent meeting, reports the Marietta Daily Journal.
Among them: a youth baseball and softball league that helps shape young people's life skills, as well as community involvement.
