When it comes to design, it's all about the unexpected.
Take, for instance, Alejandra Alarcon's Edible Playscapes table, which she says encourages diners to eat without cutlery.
"By reimagining our dining table as a playscape, it empowers individuals to explore with their hands and reflect on our dining rituals," says Alarcon, a student at EMMA College of Art and Design.
Alarcon is one of three winners of this year's esteemed Good Design Award, given to the best work by young designers under the age of 30.
The other two are Maria Gils' Post War Drobe and Harvey M.
Hookar's 25-degree chair.
