The Rockefeller Foundation has given out more than $10 million to groups working to combat climate change, and the Boston-based nonprofit's chief digital officer is among this year's recipients, the Boston Globe reports.
Matt Rockefeller has been with the foundation since its founding in 2004, and he's been its chief digital officer since last year.
In that time, the foundation has distributed more than $10 million in grants to groups fighting climate change, including the World Wildlife Fund, the Appalachian Regional Commission, and the Sierra Club, among others.
In a blog post, Rockefeller explains why he's among this year's recipients: "Climate change is already having an impact on my own life," he writes.
"I've been inspired by the work of so many people around the world who are doing everything they can to mitigate the effects of climate change, and I'm honored to be a part of their efforts."
