Papermill Creek Children�s Corner preschool in Point Reyes Station, Calif., has been awarded a two-year, $100,000 grant to support early care and education services for families living in rural Marin.
The preschool, which serves 25 students ages 2 through 5, was one of 80 entities awarded grants from the Marin Community Foundation�s �community power initiative,� the Marin Independent Journal reports.
�Equitable wages for early childhood education teachers, and access to high-quality early care and education for children and their families, are the highest form of equity,� says the preschool�s executive director.
�That�s particularly true in rural West Marin, where challenges and disparities magnify.�
