Inspired by the idea of celebrating the " cerebral might of wordsmiths," a community of bookish folk came up with a few ideas: Speed reading: Readers would be given a new book and tasked with finishing it in a record time.
They'd be asked to answer questions about major plot contrivances at the end to gauge their fast but close-reading.
Haiku: Judges would award points for random spelling mistakes.

lowbrow: The debate would be over the use of the Oxford comma.
All-night marathon writing: You could try to read as many books as you can in one go.
