The community of Fordyce, Ark., is coming together to help victims of last week's mass shooting.

The Arkansas Community Foundation has set up the Fordyce Survivors Fund, which will provide financial support to survivors and their families.

"A shooting isn't something you want to plan for,'" the foundation's president says.

"But we have gained experience helping rebuild communities following other disasters the years, and we work with partners that have vast experience in mass shootings."

A steering committee led by Fordyce residents led by Jeff Dion is leading the fund, reports Arkansas Online.

"None of us ever imagined we would have to respond in the aftermath of a shooting in a peaceful town like Fordyce," says State Sen.

Matt Stone.

"We are heartbroken at this senseless violence, right here at home."
