Twelve Schools Honoured with the Green Flag Award

Students at a dozen schools in the Turks and Caicos Islands are setting a "powerful example" for the rest of the world, says the country's minister of education.

The schools received the "Greening Our Schools" award last week, reports the Turks and Caicos Compass, which notes that the green flag is a prestigious honor that can be revoked if sustainable projects aren't maintained during the next assessment period.

"Your achievements are a testament to what can be accomplished when we work together toward a common goal," said Rachel Taylor.

"The Green Flag is not just a symbol of your hard work but a beacon of hope and inspiration for the entire country."
