After 44 years as the mayor of the village of Brocton, New York, David Hazelton was recently awarded the state's George B.
Footprints Award for his service to his community as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical servicesman.
"There's a never-ending list of things he's done," says an EMS captain for the Brocton Fire Department.
"Every time I do something, she's taking care of everything else."
Hazelton and his wife, Nancy, have three sons and are in their 70s, the Buffalo News reports.
"Every time I do something, she's taking care of everything else," said Hazelton, who helped move a Vietnam Memorial Wall to the village.
"The only thing it really means is we can do more for the community."
