A program in South Dakota that pairs high school students with older ones to teach them about character and healthy living is getting a big boost from the state's community foundation.
The South Dakota Community Foundation has awarded a $20,000 grant to Teens As Teachers, which plans to add a trainer and facilitate donor engagement, the Argus Leader reports.
"Teens As Teachers is rooted in the 'change agent' power of older youth to teach and mentor younger students," says program leader Carol Birgen.
"We are honored to partner with the South Dakota Youth Foundation, joining hands to empower older youth in building character and shaping positive lifestyles through impactful lessons and support."
