Max Bateson is the winner of this year's "Ingenuity Impact Entrepreneur of the Year" award in the "social and environmental change" category for his company, HYGGE, which provides "innovative solutions for the challenges of the UK's aging population, integrating modern technology, adaptable living spaces, and a supportive environment to support caregivers and improve the lives of the elderly," per a press release from the University of Nottingham.
Bateson will receive a $25,000 cash prize and mentoring from the university, as well as the opportunity to pitch his company's idea to a panel of judges at a London event in April, reports the Telegraph.
The runners-up were awarded $10,000 each and the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of investors.
"For me, the best part of this has been meeting some many people of the way who have been so great in offering expertise to help HYGGE," Bateson tellsMirage.com.
