Bloomberg Philanthropies is putting its money where its mouth is in an effort to fight climate change.

The news agency on Wednesday announced the launch of the Youth Climate Action (YCA) Fund, which will give $50,000 to 15 to 24-year-olds in cities around the world to develop and submit project proposals related to climate change, reports Reuters.

The proposals should " align with the city's established climate goals and reflect innovative plans for youth to engage in climate-related activities that can demonstrate community impact," according to a press release.

The proposals will be reviewed by mayoral advisory committees, which will select the most promising projects for funding and implementation.

Interested youth groups are encouraged to access the fund by downloading the application form from www.kma.gov.gh starting Wednesday and submitting completed forms either online or in person at the mayor's office in Adum, Ghana, before June 27.

The fund could be extended until September 2024.

City Mayor Samuel Pyne urged youth to seize this opportunity to contribute to climate solutions, their pivotal role as future leaders and change agents.

He implored them to apply for the fund, engage actively, and collaborate in constructing sustainable and resilient future Kumasi and beyond.
