After 31 years at the helm, Nancy Chockley is stepping down as CEO of the National Institute for Health Care Management.
Chockley founded the nonprofit in the 1990s to bring business leaders, policymakers, and other experts together "to improve the quality of health care and lower costs," per a press release.
Since then, the group has grown to nearly $400 billion in revenue, with its board including some of the country's top health care thought leaders.
But Chockley, who was a principal in a consulting firm before founding NIHCM, says it's time for a change.
"Over the years, I have observed his insight, wisdom, and important ideas," she says.
"I know he will do an excellent job of moving NIHCM forward."
Avik Roy will take over as president and CEO on May 1.
"NIHCM is a unique organization that fosters collaboration among leaders with many different perspectives to spark new ideas for improving health care," Roy says.
"I look forward to advancing that mission in this new role, and to charting the future of the organization."
