People in Michigan's Upper Peninsula are being asked to become "gatekeepers" in the fight against suicide, MLive.com reports.
The "Question Persuade and Refer" program teaches people how to recognize warning signs of a suicide, how to guide someone toward help, and how to become "gatekeepers" themselves to help.
It's a partnership between Copper Shores Outreach and Education and Keweenaw Support 4 Healthy Minds.
The QPR training will be held at the Ojibwa Community Library in Baraga on Wednesday.
