Paulson Prize for Sustainability 2024 Opens for Applications

One of the world's most prestigious prizes for sustainable development is now open for applications.

The 2024 Paulson Prize for Sustainability, which is being held in partnership with China's Tsinghua University, "encourages entities, including businesses, institutions, and social organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to submit projects demonstrating ingenuity and leadership in sustainable development," per a press release.

"There is no more critical time than now to recognize solutions that will heal our planet," says Deborah Lehr, vice chairman and executive director of the Paulson Institute, which is co-hosting the prize with China's Tsinghua University.

The prize, which has been awarded annually since 2013, is divided into two categories: "Green Innovation" and "Nature Stewardship."

Projects in either category "present creative, scalable, and sustainable solutions to address the most pressing challenges in climate change and biodiversity," per the press release.

"In the past 10 years, the Paulson Prize has attracted transformative solutions in tackling climate change, including projects in strategic emerging industries," says Yang Bin, vice president of Tsinghua University.

"These green innovations, which have been tested in China, can serve as examples for the rest of the world."

The deadline for applications is June 30
