–Phyllis Gambill, a 95-year-old Purdue University professor's wife and mother of six, died Sunday of natural causes at her daughter's home in Holland, Mich., the Journal & Courier reports.
She was born in Indianapolis on November 6, 1928, to Fred Wingate Stultz and Cordelia May (Squires) Stultz.
She was a graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at Purdue.
She was a member of the Tippecanoe County Chamber Music Society, Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette, Lafayette Symphony Guild, and was an honorary lifetime member of Purdue Women's Club.
Her hobbies included oil-painting, playing the piano, and listening to the music of her children.
She was a member of her beloved Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Tippecanoe County Chamber Music Society, Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette, Lafayette Symphony Guild, and was an honorary lifetime member of Purdue Women's Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Chandra Lynn (ill) Hronchek of Holland, Michigan, her son, Robert Arnold Gambill II of Rosengarten, Germany, 6 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
