A Ford Foundation employee in South Africa is getting a lot of attention this week after she tweeted a photo of herself holding a sign that read, "I am a child molester," the Guardian reports.
Olwethu Sizani, who works in the foundation's Southern Africa office, tweeted a photo of herself holding a sign that read, "I am a child molester," along with the message, "I am not a pervert."
She later apologized for the tweet, saying it was taken out of context and that she meant to say she's a child molester, not a pervert.
But the Ford Foundation isn't backing down.
In a statement, it says Sizani, who has a bachelor's of commerce degree in math and statistics from Nelson Mandela University, "is passionate about supporting data-informed decision-making" and has "extensive experience working in social justice, philanthropy, early childhood development, and basic education in South Africa."
