Paradise Doubles Down on Growth Trend

The town of Paradise, Calif., devastated by the Camp Fire five years ago, is now considered the fastest-growing community in California, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

According to the Chico Enterprise-Record, the town's population of 4,764 was down to 26,218 at the time of the wildfire, which killed 88 people.

But by the start of 2023, Paradise's population had jumped to 9,142, and the North Valley Community Foundation estimates it will hit 10,000 by 2024.

The town has seen new businesses move in as well as new homes built.

The North Valley Community Foundation, for example, is working with Habitat for Humanity to build 10 new homes for survivors of the wildfire.
