The Berrien Community Foundation has awarded $154,000 in grants to 22 organizations seeking to do good in the community.
Among the recipients is the Berrien County Veterans Services office, which will receive $10,000 for the purchase of a DAV Van to transport veterans to VA medical appointments in Battle Creek, MLive.com reports.
"The new van will provide assurance and reliability to get our veterans safely to their appointments," says van driver Paul Donavin.
Other recipients in the latest round of grants include the African American History and Literature Gallery, Lory's Place, Buchanan High School, and Stevensville United Methodist Church.
