Marengo County Organizations Receive Grants from Black Belt Community Foundation
Foundation: Black Belt Community Foundation
The Black Belt Community Foundation gave out more than $178,000 in grants this year to projects that touched the lives of more than 26,000 people in Alabama's Black Belt region, AL.com reports.
"From community festivals to summer reading programs to health and wellness initiatives, this funding makes a significant impact in Black Belt communities, touching the lives of 26,356 individuals living in the Alabama Black Belt," the foundation said in a statement.
The foundation, which was started by the family of former Alabama Gov.
Robert Bentley, is known for its trust-based philanthropy, which emphasizes honesty, trust, respect, and anti-racist policies.
