An Iowa woman who died in 2023 has left behind a scholarship fund in her honor.
The Community Foundation of Washington County says the BethAnn McBride Scholarship Fund will support post-secondary scholarships for area high school seniors, reports the Gazette.
McBride, a beloved music educator and school administrator in many schools, died of cancer at the age of 52.
"She and her husband Doug made their home in Washington and were active in theater and musical groups in the community," says CFWC Executive Director Millie Youngquist.
"Beth passed away in April of 2023 after an heroic battle with cancer."
